Best Use of Video ( 11+ staff)

Judges want to see films about architecture that are inspiring and informative so it becomes a compelling and engaging experience and that are relevant to a wider audience, not just to the architecture cognoscenti.

They want to see how the film expresses an aspect of architecture or design that can’t easily be conveyed in words or still photographs.

Entries must have been created between 2024 and 2025.

Criteria

Story Does the film communicate a clear story and drive a narrative? Is there a strong beginning, middle and end?
Engagement Are you clear who your audience is and what you’re trying to achieve? How are you measuring success?
Composition Are shots well composed? From a visual point of view, is the film eye catching and appealing?

  • Derin Fadina, Architect, Barr Gazetas

    Derin is an architect, writer, and lecturer. He has written for publications including the Architects’ Journal and Frieze and is an Associate Lecturer at UAL: Central Saint Martins.

  • Red Mike, Filmmaker, Spirit of Space

    Red Mike co-founded Spirit of Space 22 years ago while studying architecture in Milan. Spirit of Space makes films about architectural spaces around the globe.

  • Rachel Stevenson, Architect, David Miller Architects

    Rachel splits her time between practice – where she specialises in interiors, exhibition design and marketing – and teaching.history and theory at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL.
