Best Use of Video
Judges want to see films about architecture that are inspiring and informative so it becomes a compelling and engaging experience.
They want to know how the film is explaining an aspect of the architectural design process that can’t easily be conveyed in words or still photographs. Powerful films also have a strong story that’s relevant to a wider audience and a clear narrative that has a beginning, middle and end
This category is for films over two minutes thirty seconds. If you film is under this length please enter the Short Clip category.
Videos must have been created between autumn 2022 and February ’24.

Criteria
Story | Does the film communicate a clear story and drive a narrative? Is there a strong beginning, middle and end? Is the film trying to make an emotional connection with the viewer? |
---|---|
Engagement | Are you clear who your audience is and what you’re trying to achieve? How are you measuring success? Are there any relevant statistics to show plays, finishes or likes? |
Composition | Are shots well composed? From a visual point of view, is the film eye catching and appealing? |

Anna is responsible for the in-house production of all FCBS’s films including the University of Warwick Faculty of Arts Building film which won this category in 2022. Anna worked for the BBC before moving into the charity sector and then into architecture always using moving image as a means of communicating key messages in an engaging and accessible way.

Ramsey is founding director of NOOMA Studio, an interdisciplinary practice of architects and creatives with a heartfelt connection to London. The studio has been recognised by multiple awards including the Architects’ Journal’s 40 under 40 as well as Archiboo’s Best Newcomer and the Alan Davidson Award for Storytelling.
